    Appeared Ingolf Pedersen ... chief officer on board the M/S "Randsfjord" ...

    The vessel, which belonged to the Norwegian America Line and had a crew of 32 men including the master, was on voyage from Halifax to Liverpool with a general cargo, the value and insurance amount of which is unknown. On departure the vessel was in every respect in completely seaworthy condition.

    As all the ship's books and papers were lost, chief officer Ingolf Pedersen produced a report prepared by him as regards the torpedoing of the M/S "Randsfjord". ...

    The report was read out and was thereafter approved by Chief Officer Ingolf Pedersen as his evidence.
