Etter torpederingen med M/T "Andrea Brøvig" den 23.6.1942 ble Rolf Sulland overført til et amerikansk skip ved navn "Robert E. Lee" som avgikk fra Trinidad til USA. Dette skipet ble også torpedert - juli 1942.
