Var om bord i M/S Nordvard" i Japansk havn ved krigsutbruddet. Seilte i ballast til Australia. Videre med kornlast til UK. Ble raidet i Indiske hav av tyske krigsmarine(16.Sep. 1940) Ble med væpnede vakter ombord tvunget til videre seilas rundt SørAfrika til Bordaux, Frankrike hvor hele mannskapet etterhvert ble satt i land og internert på Franske landsbygda sammen med flere hvalfangstmannskaper. Ble etter transport gjennom Tyskokkupert område sendt hjem via Szczecin i Polen med fangetransportskipet "Donau" til Oslo på vårparten 1941.
