Erling Marinius Hansen var påmønstret flytende hvalkokeri "Pelagos", da skipet ble kapret av det tyske kaperfartøyet "PINGUIN" den 14.01.1941. "Pelagos" ankom Bordeaux den 20.03.1941. Hansen ble repatriert til Norge den 05.05.1941 etter tysk fangenskap.
