"Silvaplana" ble kapret og tatt som prise av tysk hjelpekrysser "Atlantis i Stillehavet 11.sept. 1941. Mannskapet ble tatt ombord i "Atlantis", men etter 17 dager igjen sendt ombord i "Silvplana" sammen med tysk prisemannskap. "Silvplana" ble sendt for egen maskin til Bordeaux i Frankrike,, hvor de ankom etter en seilas på 2.måneder. Sjømannen ble derfra overført tiltyske fangeleir Milag und Marlag Nord den 1.12.1941. Løslatt og repariert til Norge hvor han ankom 15.april 1942.
