Var maskinist, senere maskinmester fra 1911 til han i mai 1943 ble syk på grunn av den harde påkjenning og brakt i land på Det norske hospital i Brooklyn, hvor han døde 21. juli 1943. Urnen bisatt i Moss. Krigsmedaljen og Det britiske krigskors.
