M/S Tirranna ble først kapret i Det Indiske Hav av tysk raider Atlantis den 10. juni 1940. Den 22. september i Biskaia ble Tirranna senket på vei til fransk havn. Mannskapet ble internert i Royan. Løslatt og hjemsendt til Norge, med ankomst Oslo den 17. desember 1940.
