Arnfinn Lyse var ombord på MT Sandefjord som ble kapret av tyskerne mens på reise fra Cape Town, Sør Afrika til Freetown, Sierra Leone med 11.000 tons råolje. Ble oppdaget og kapret av slagskipet ADMIRAL SCHEER. Prisemannskap ble satt om bord og seilte henne til Gironde, Frankrike hvor hun ankom 27/02. Det norske mannskapet ble senere sendt hjem til Norge sommeren 1941
