Haldor Numme var om bord på MT SANDEFJORD 18.1.1941 - Kapret av tyskerne mens på reise fra Cape Town, Sør Afrika til Freetown, Sierra Leone med 11.000 tons råolje. Ble oppdaget og kapret av slagskipet ADMIRAL SCHEER. Prisemannskap ble satt om bord og seilte henne til Gironde, Frankrike hvor hun ankom 27/02. Det norske mannskapet ble senere sendt hjem til Norge. Numme ankom Oslo med s/s Donau 5.5 1941.
