Kjell Nybakk var med Kvarstadskipet M/T LIND som 1.styrmann. M/T LIND avseilte Gøteborg den 31.mars 1942 og kom igjennom blokaden med ankomst UK. 4.april 1942.
2.8.1943 - Overført SSH til Vepningsofficerskurs, Dumbarton som Gunnery officer.
3.8.1943 - Til Royal Navy, Dumbarton.
