Seilte matros ombord på det svenske skipet D/S ORANIA. Omkom den 11.februar 1940 da skipet ble torpedert av tysk ubåt U50 ( Korvettenkapitän Max-Hermann Bauer.
Hans bror Ole omkom den 13.oktober 1939 ved minespenging.
