Mønstring på Raftsund under krigen: Påmønstring 17.01.1940 i Haugesund. Avmønstret og innlagt på Sanatorium Pavillion Walker Gate i Newcastle 02.09.1940.
Død: 28.02.1941 av tuberkulose i Sanatorium Pavilion Walker Gate Newcastle. Først gravlagt St. Andrew’s and Jesmond Cemetry, Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, England, Section P grave 332, kremert i 1957, «sendt hjem» og gravlagt på Øystese kirkegård hjemme i Norge. Gravsten som sto på hans grav ble også sendt til Øystese.
