Birger Dannevig skriver i sin bok Skip og Menn: I oktober 1943 ble pressen invitert om bord på M/T "Gallia", kaptein Reidar Henriksen under skipets opphold i New York. På det tidspunkt hadde det ført nærmere 300 000 tonn bensin til England, hvilket da også vakte stor oppmerksomhet.  Men New York Times så ut til særlig å bite seg merke i andre ting, nemlig at den norske sjømannsånd virket usvekket selv etter denne krigsseilas. Maskinrommet ble funnet akkurat like tiltalende, skjønt maskinmester Barthold Seines beklaget at det var litt uryddig som følge av den uunngåelige stempelsjau.

Våren 1944 hadde "Gallia" gjort 50 turer på Atlanterhavet, mens det transporterte kvantum var passert 330 000 tonn.  Søndag den 30. april var Kong Haakon om bord og hedret besetningen, her som på "Mosdale".

I årene etter krigen arbeidet Barthold Seines som teknisk inspektør i The Texas Company (Norway) til han gikk av med pensjon ca. 1952.
