Skytter nr. 1131: Vedvik, Olaf Daniel. Født 26.6.1921 i Nordvågsøy.
Yrke: Sjømann.
Fartstid ca. 36 måneder.
Den 9.april var han ombord i D/S KERET av Bergen. Skipet ble torpedert kl. 2300 den 22. august 1940. 23 av mannskapet omkom. Vedvik var blant de 7 overlevende som ble reddet av det britiske skipet D/S TRIDENT. Senere var han ombord i M/S TOULOUSE som han mønstret av i New York og meldte seg til marinen.
Antatt i marinen 29.8.1942 og ble utdannet til skytter i Camp Norway, Lunenburg, Canada.
Senere gjorde han tjeneste som skytter på følgende norske handelsskip:
M/S ABRAHAM LINCOLN fra 13.10.1942 til 7.1.1944.
M/S BUENOS AIRES fra 27.1.1944 til 1.8.1944. overført
M/S FERNBROOK fra 1.8.1944 til 6.12.1944.
D/S FRIDJOF NANSEN fra 9.1.1945 til 12.1.1946.
For sin innsats for Norge under den annen verdenskrig ble han ble tildelt Krigsmedaljen, Deltakermedaljen og Haakon den VII`s 70 års medalje.
