"History: Went to Ordinary School for 7 years. Studied Navigation by correspondence course. Came to England with the Maaloy raiding party, and arrived at Scapa Flow on 28th December 1941."
"In the autumn of 1939 when the "METEOR" was laid up after the outbreak of war, he continued with this Company, preparing the ships of the Company's fleet for carrying Norwegian troops up and down the Norwegian coast. In March 1940 his father died and he then went home.""At the time of the invasion of Norway he was at home and reported for service in accordance with the endorsement on his military service bok. He was told he was not wanted and volunteered for coast watching, which duty he carried out until the end of the war in South Norway. At the end of the war he went home and worked on the farm and on 26th September 1940 he joined the life boat society and became a member of the crew of four of one of the life boats.""NESSEN remained in this service up to the time of his escape. On the day of the raid by British forces he was a member of the crew of the lifeboat "NAMSOS" patrolling a section of the coast opposite MAALØY."
