"KVALSUND had done military service at Setnesmoen during the summer of 1938, and was called up on the outbreak of war in Norway to Aandalsnes More, Infantry Regiment No.11, Captain HOVDEN. [...]
He took part in the defence of his country the Gudbrandsdal sector and returned home after the capitulation and resumed his former employment aboard the cutter "Storegg I"."
