Fra Bokverket "Evig heder skal de ha". Bjørn K. Sagdahl.
Født i Saura i Gildesål den 5.januar 1921. Han hadde fartstid fra 1935 og seilte under krigen som skipper på M/S GLIMT. Den 9. april 1940 var han i Trondheim. 1. mai var han tilbake i Bødø, og fikk oppleve bombingen av byen, den verste opplevelsen han hadde, i følge hans innmeldigskjema til foreningen.
