Ble i 1933 fører av ds "Botnia" (2400) av Bergen, tilh. William Hansen.
Har senere ført ds "Gyda" (2400), ds "Hafnia" (2050), ds "Bauta" (2750), ds "Hertha" (2100) og ms "Helena" (3000) alle av Bergen.
Under siste verdenskrig (1940-45) utsatt for skade på "Hafnia" og "Buta" ved flyangrep på norskekysten.
Var på DS "Hafnia" under kollisjonen 30. november 1942.
Var på DS "Hafnia" under kollisjonen 22. februar 1943.
(I sjøforklaringen til kollisjonen i 1943: han hadde vært fører fra mars 1939).
