"Einar ble gift i 1940 med Marie Johanne "Mie" Røge 1917 fra Thorupstrand i Nord Jylland i Danmark. Hun blir kalt "Mie" og var datter til Peter og Else Røge. De hadde ikke barn.
Einar seilte til sjøs før [invasjonen] og den 8. april 1940 kom han med en tankbåt til Oslo. Da tyskerne invaderte byen dagen etter, var det bare å komme seg bort så fort som mulig. "Mie" seilte sammen med Einar. Hun var salong- og messepike og Einar var maskinist.
I 1949 reiste Einar ut igjen til sjøs, men han mistrivdes alene og ville at "Mie" skulle komme etter. Hun fikk så jobb og de seilte sammen i Rasmussens Rederi. Da de hadde seilt i totalt 3 år hadde de samlet nok penger til at Einar kunne kjøpe seg fiskebåt".
