"WOOLGAR ble senket av japanske fly 07.03.42. Mannskapet gikk i livbåtene og [de overlevende i den ene livbåten] kom etter 88 dagers seilas til Port Blair, Andamanøyene den 04.06.42.
Samtlige ble tatt til fange av japanerne. Olsson var først krigsfange på Malaya og senere i fangeleiren Changi Camp, (Civil internees) i Singapore.
Han ble befridd 15.09.45 og sendt til England som passasjer med TEGELBERG. Ankom Liverpool 08.10.45 og ble deretter sendt hjem med BRETAGNE og ankom Norge 29.10.45."

Going through new source material in order to document the war sailors and their history is an ongoing and extensive effort, and there exist no complete register over decorations awarded. Infomation about medals will therefore be registered gradually and be based on different source materials. The war sailors were awarded medals both during and after the war.
