RINGULV ble internert i Casablanca og overtatt av Vichy-myndighetene i juni 1941. Mannskapet satt i forskjellige interneringsleire. Flyktet fra leiren i Settat den 25.oktober 1941, og ble arrestert av spanske myndigheter og satt i fengsel i Tetuan til 12. januar 1942. Ankom samme dag til Gibraltar. Reiste derfra med S/S SOBIESKY (Polsk) den 4. mars 1942 til England.
