Gift 1938 i Bergen med Hanna Jakobine Utne, f. 1916 i Bodin. 2 barn. Var under krigen kokk på d/s Sirius, og omkom 18. mai 1940 da skipet ble senket av tyske fly ved Finnlandsneset, 8 n. mil fra Harstad, på vei fra Tromsø til Risøyhamn.
