Norges skibsførere:
Reiste til sjøs første gang juni 1927 som jungmann på D/S RUTENFJELL tilhørende Samuelsen & Olsens Rederi, Farsund. Fortsatte som matros om bord i D/S THEKLA tilhørende Samuelsen & Buch, Farsund Mønstret av i Liverpool juli 1930 for å begynne på styrmannsskolen i Farsund med eksamen i juli 1931. Gikk deretter ut som matros om bord i D/S NOVASLI tilhørende Samuelsen & Olsen, Farsund og mønstret av i 1932 for å ta Skipsfører skolen i Farsund 1932/33. Etter endt eksamen i 1933 gikk han først som 2. Styrmann om bord i D/S NOVASLI og i 1934 som 1. Styrmann om bord i D/S LØVLAND, før han i 1934 overtok Skipsfører jobben om bord i samme skip D/S LØVLAND. Hadde flere turer med dette skipet før han i 1938 overtok som skipsfører om bord i D/S LØVSTAD. Om bord her ble han og hans besetning kjent over hele verden som utførte antagelig den største redningsaksjon som noe skip utførte under 2. verdenskrig. Redningsaksjonen ble organisert på beste sjømannsmaner og da det var over, hadde de tatt opp av sjøen 814 personer, hovedsakelig indiske og afrikanske soldater. Mønstret av og reiste hjem fra Calcutta juni 1945 Medeier 1945 i Samuelsens Rederi, Farsund. Medlem av Farsund Sjømannsforening. Gift. 2 barn.
