Kystskipperskole, loskurs. Ble hardt såret under et flyangrep 28. oktober 1944, da han sto på brua på D/S TORGHATTEN, som skulle legge inn til kaien ved Lødingen. Døde dagen etter på Narvik sykehus. Gravlagt i Ofoten.
