Født 26.mai 1915 på V. Sandøya. Til sjøs 1930 med m.s. "ELG" (7000) av Oslo, tilh. Thorvald Hansen, Oslo. Styrm. eks. 1938 og skipsf.eks. 1947 i Arendal. Styrm. med "TEMERAIRE", "SANDAR", "POLARSOL", "GYLFE" og "VIVITA". Ble i 1952 fører av m.t. "LISITA" (13560) av Grimstad, tilh. A.S. UGLANDS REDERI. Fører nå s.n. skip. - Ugift.
Styrmanns sertifikat for dampskip 08.07.1938. Skipsfører eksamen 1947.
Nytt styrmanns sertifikat utstedt 29.01.1947 da det gamle var gått tapt.
Warsailors/Krigsseilerregisteret:
Lund mønstret i Oslo 06.09.1939 som 4.styrmann til m.s. "Temeraire" , mønstret av i Baltimore 23.10.1941.
09.12.1941 gikk han ombord i d.s. "INGRID" som båtsmann. Skipet var på reise fra Loch Ewe til Hampton Roads da hun forliste, grunnstøtte og sank ved Green Tiree, Hebrides (56 32 N 6 56 W). Hele besetningen gikk i livbåtene (2), og tok seg inn til øya Tiree.
21.02.1942 gikk Lund ombord i m.t. "SANDAR"som 3.styrmann. Dette skipet avgikk Port of Spain, Trinidad 2.mai 1942, med oljelast for Gibraltar. Kommet ca. 60 nautiske mil til havs ble "SANDAR" torpedert av tysk U-båt, U-66. Oljelasten tok fyr og i brannen omkom 3 mann, herav kaptein og 1.styrmann. Den øvrige besetning klarte å få satt ut livbåter og etter kort tid ble de oppdaget av fly som dirigerte skip til unnsetning.
Neste dag ble de plukket opp av amerikansk skip "ALCOA PILOT" og landsatt neste dag i Port of Spain.
